I
moved to Las Vegas in the summer of '08
from New York, to prepare for an
upcoming tour in the Fall of 2009. I am
an actress/vocalist born and raised in
Chicago. I'm about 5'4 and was at 140
lbs. So my main focus was to build up my
stamina and just feel better and
healthier.
One afternoon I was driving down
Tropicana and out of the corner of my
eye I see the word "Boe Boxing." "Right
on, that's what I want to do. Go beat
some bags up." I've always took a liking
to boxing, and my father was a boxer
back in the day. I started training off
and on with Andrea and Steve. Now here
are two people that are not only
extremely dedicated and passionate about
what they do, but they treat you like
family so to speak. They make you feel
right at home.
Sure, they kicked my ass big time, but
really that's what I wanted. Steve is
very thorough and when it comes to first
timers, like myself, Andrea has a great
way of putting you at ease. When I first
started in November I didn't realize how
out of shape I was. Now I have so much
more energy and am down at least 10 lbs.
I lacked a lot of discipline when I
first started, but as time when on I
became more focused thanks to Steve and
Andrea. Not just on getting in the habit
of working out but with my diet too.
I also recommend, if you get a chance,
to at least train one time with "Jason
aka Champ." Now this guy is cooky, fun
and really makes happy to be there. I
love training with all these guys. Thank

Steve
Boe is, by far, the best trainer I've
ever had: tough when I want to give up,
pushes me real hard to achieve the
results I want to completely reshape my
physique, which he did. The one-on-one
personal training with him will always

It
was a year ago this month that I had
just finally had it with what my body
had turned into. I was standing in front
of a store dressing room mirror trying
on a pair of jeans, looked at myself and
thought "whose body is that staring
back at me?" Reality hit and I knew
I had to do something. I had always been
active; cheerleader in high school,
distance runner in college etc... then I
got exercise lazy but kept eating the
same amount- especially lots and lots of
pasta! The pounds started to pack on and
I found my hips, my butt and my stomach
twice the size of what they should have
been. In the midst of the weight gain my
back got weak and I was having major
regular back spasms. (Those of you who
have had them you know how painful they
can be.) I heard about Steve Boe through
a co-worker who looked great every time
I saw her at work. I decided to talk to
Steve to see if he could help strengthen
my back and get my body back in shape.
After my first conversation with Steve I
was so impressed with his knowledge of
fitness and proper eating that I knew he
could help me. I started training 3
times a week with Steve for an hour each
time. After about 2 weeks of training
and sticking to Steve's diet plan (he
designs specifically for each client's
needs,) I began to lose weight. After
about 6 months I lost 15 pounds, dropped
12 percentage points in body fat, lost
5" of my waist, 3" of my hips
and butt and began to see my body
totally transform. It is now a year
later and I am so much stronger and I
feel great! I'm training 2 times a week
and I am also attending Boe's cardio
kickboxing classes regularly. I have
noticed not only the change in my body
but also my increased endurance. I look
more fit than I did in high school and
my back is much better. Steve and his
staff are all amazing, I can't say
enough about their encouragement and
kindness. When someone asks me how come
I look so good I tell them about Boe
Boxing and Fitness and say you too can

Preparing
for my first figure competition in
November of 2004 with a trainer who was
also training for the same competition,
I realized this level of training and
dieting was exactly what I was looking
for in fitness. The process and
preparation for that
"ULTIMATE" body was insane yet
challenging!!!! Not placing in the first
competition helped me to re-evaluate my
training. I wanted to transform by body.
A friend of mine introduced me to a
boxing class on Saturday morning. I
loved the way I felt the next couple of
days. After weeks of searching and
evaluating trainers, I was convinced to
have Steve train me so that I may
accomplish my goal. My husband was
completely supportive and eager to see
the results of my training. Once again,
I decided to enter into, yet another
Figure Competition. Steve designed my
training according to my body type,
drive, and attitude. He believed in me
to very end. After weeks of intense
training, dieting, and inspiring
motivational words from Steve, I went
from 126 lbs. to 113lbs and from 18% -
10% body fat. I took first place in the
All-Natural Competition, Las Vegas, May
2006.
Not only is Steve my trainer but he has
also become a close friend to my family
and me. A'ndrea, thank you for being so
supportive and such a great help to me
during the day of my competition. I
couldn't have done it without you.

OK,
no really.
I was athletic my whole life. I swam for
eight years and joined a United States
Swim Team in Clearwater, FL. I swam
morning and night for almost four years.
After being burnt out, I went to New
York on a modeling contract and was
asked to lose all of my muscle mass. I
went from 5’11” and 155 lbs of pure
muscle to 118 lbs in a matter of months.
After I decided to stop modeling (and
quit starving myself) my body decided to
do just exactly what it wanted to. What
every mom tells her daughter “It’s
going to catch up with you.” And it
did.
I have always gone to the gym and
decided that I hated classes. A friend
had told me about her trainer and how
awesome he was and how fun her kick
boxing classes were. So, one day, I gave
in and went with her. The first time I
trained with Boe, I couldn’t stop
laughing. He is one of the funniest guys
you’ll ever meet. We trained our legs
and the following day, I was sooooo
sore! I could hardly sit down! I
continued going knowing that Boe does
know exactly what he’s doing. After
two weeks of a few training sessions a
week, I was so impressed with my body!
Boe works with you on your goals. He
sets your diets, your training schedule.
In the time you allot, Boe will get you
right where you want to be! Everyone in
the gym is so friendly. The gym has such
a good vibe! Thanks, Steve Boe, for

I moved
to Vegas the day after I graduated college
and somehow managed to gain the dreaded
"freshman 15" for the second time
in my life 6 years after the fact. Not cool!
After about 6 months of trying with NO
success to lose weight so as to fit back
into any of my jeans I decided to try this
trainer my friend raved about, Ms. A¹ndrea.
I just couldn¹t rationalize paying $30 for
30 minutes of training when I paid $21 a
month for a gym membership, but needless to
say I was fed up and needed help.
Well about
6 months, 20 lbs and 3 pants sizes later
A¹ndrea has surpassed my goals and
expectations and I¹m now the healthiest
(and thinnest) I¹ve been since high school.
Every girls dream, right? Thanks to Boe
Boxing, specifically A¹ndrea though, I now
have a better understanding of portion
control, different means of exercising and
living healthy.

I never
realized I had gained so much weight until I
looked back at pictures from college. Not
only did I gain the “Freshman 15” by the
time I left college I had packed on about 40
pounds. I grew up in a fast food family and
never really learned how to eat right. I was
very active in sports as a child so I never
gained the weight until I stopped playing
after high school.
Eating seems to be my biggest challenge.
Since training with Steve, he has changed my
outlook on eating and food. He has taught me
how to eat healthy and keeps me accountable
by maintaining a food journal. Steve shows
me how to better myself by making smart food
choices and working out. As I began to eat
healthy and worked out with Steve three
times a week; my weight began to drop.
Beginning at 34% body fat and 181 pounds in
September 2005, I began my journey to get
back into shape. I had two goals that I was
working towards. First, I was training for a
physical exam where I had to do 18 pushups.
I started only being able to do two by
myself. In a couple months Steve worked with
me on reaching my goals and by the time I
took the test I was able to do the 18
pushups and then some. Second, I was getting
married in April 2006. By the time I was
married, I weighed 161 pounds and had 27%
body fat. I dropped 20 pounds and 7% of my
body fat!
Steve has been the difference in my weight
loss. He has been my guidance, motivation,
accountability and teacher. The difference
with Steve is that he actually cares about
his clients and wants them to succeed. Steve
makes changes in many people’s lives every
day and I am glad that he has been able to
impact my life in a way that will make me
the best person I can me. Feeling great
about yourself makes all the difference in
the world when it comes to every aspects of
your life. Thank you Steve for inspiring me,
helping me lose the weight and changing my

Back in February
of 2003 I was not by any means happy with my
appearance. I am 5'3 1/2" and weighed
in at 125 lbs. with 25% body fat. I was
disappointed that I let myself get to this
point. I was going to turn 30 in May. At
that moment I found the desire within to
dedicate myself to tighten up my body. I began
to take box classes twice a week with Steve Boe
at Golds Gym. Gradually I built myself up
to taking his class four days a week.
Things were going well then I went on vacation
for a week in June 2003. Vacation means
eat anything and everything possible. I
came back home weighing 130 lbs. Oh my
goodness what have I done. It was time to start
all over again and regain my will power. I
started out gradually so I wouldn't burn
myself out to quickly. Once again I
started with the box classes twice a week.
Then four days a week. Then I went hard
core. I added in 20 min. on the
stairmaster, hit the weights for abs and legs
three days a week. On top of that I
started personal training with Steve Boe one day
week, sometimes two. He really helped me to keep
motivated. I watched what I ate six days a
week and had my junk day to keep myself sane. By
the end of August 2003 I got my weight down to
110 lbs. with 15% body fat.
For those of you who are ready to make a change
in your life, just remember these things...
It took me three months of PATIENCE to find the
new me. YOU have to have DESIRE within to DEDICATE
yourself to get from point A to point B.
WILL POWER is a huge factor, BE TRUE TO
YOURSELF. YOU create your own destiny by
the choices you make in life. How bad do

Since
meeting Steve 4 years ago I've learned a lot
about nutrition and weight training. I've lost
50 pounds and have kept it off.
Three years ago I was featured in Las Vegas Life
magazine. Three weeks before the pictures were
taken I sat down with Steve and he put me on a
nutritional program. I lost 6 additional pounds
in three weeks and felt great. I currently
compete in the SCCA Road racing series on the
East coast and have been building strength and
lean muscle for the grueling races. With the
plan Steve has me on, my weight only fluctuates
1 to 2 pounds. I encourage anyone that wants to

I
started taking Steve's boxing classes in
the spring of 2002 at Gold's Gym. As a
professional dancer, I remember leaving
his classes in pain because I would be
working parts of my body that I didn't
even know existed. After getting on
board and taking dance classes and
rotating them with Steve's Cardio
Kickboxing, I decided to just focus on
my physical fitness levels and attended
Steve's classes 5 days a week.
As a dancer in Las Vegas, it's really
tough to find a good level of cardio and
weight training. I had always struggled
with my weight and knew that in order to
stay in shape, I would have to work out
and eat properly for the rest of my
life. As soon as I was hired for an
entertainment job and had to "weigh
in" for my position, I decided to
seek Steve's professional help as my
personal trainer. Steve trained me twice
a week in addition to his 5 Cardio
Kickboxing classes that I was taking.
With a lot of encouragement and
positively pushing my mind and body to
the limit, I am pleased to say that this
is the best I've ever looked in my
entire life. Steve has helped me be the
best I can be physically and has changed
the way I see myself! Believe me, there
were times I wanted to cry and quit, but
I knew that quitting would only put me
back from where I began.
The greatest day in my life was a month
ago when I tried on my wedding dress. I
was told that I would be trying on gowns
that were two sizes bigger than what I
normally wear. Well, when I slipped into
a size 6 gown…that was enough proof
for me that my dedication to Steve and
his to me was all worth the pain!
Transforming your body isn't a magic
trick! It takes time and dedication. And
in the end - it's all worth the hard
work.

Working
out used to be my life but due to every
day events such as work and simply
put...laziness, I went from working out 6
days a week to maybe once! I had always
maintained a great shape during my own
workout routine, but until training with
Steve Boe I was not fully aware of my
potential. After about 4 months, 2-3 times
a week, I noticed such a drastic change in
areas that I was trying to target! With
the right workouts, designed by Steve, he
was able to target those areas that I
wanted to hit. Along with the training
schedule I began to record what I was
eating into an exercise log which Steve
provided for me. I always thought my food
intake was pretty healthy, but I was
shocked to learn all about all the
improper foods I was consuming.
Not only is Steve Boe and excellent
trainer, he has also become a very close
friend. His passion and committment are
overwhelming and admirable. I would

I have
been pretty lazy most of my life, and have
not had to think about weight or fitness,
since, due to metabolism and genetics, I
never gained any weight. I was skinny and
weak in high school and I was ok with
that. When I turned 42, I gained a few
pounds, and did not think much of it.
Steve Boe came to me through an employee
more than a year ago and asked if we would
allow him to do the kick boxing in our
work out room. I did not object, and
thought that I would try it and see what
it was like. We began weekly classes at
lunch and then increased to three days a
week. I stuck with it, and started to like
the way it made me feel. The classes are
interesting, and are always fun. Steve
mixes it up, and has enough variety to
keep everyone engaged in the workout. My
wife started coming as well, and we liked
the classes and the people. Soon we had
boxing gloves, hand wraps, and were
regular members of the class.
In December, Joyce asked me if I would
like to attend a personal training session
with Steve. Again, I was not all that
enthusiastic, but said I would go. That
was in February and I have been going
twice a week for 6 months. I have lost
weight and gained muscle. I sleep better,
pay better attention to what I eat, and
have more energy. I have started road
biking, and usually do up to 30 miles each
morning. My strength continues to
increase, and my abs are hard. I have
replaced fat with muscle, and have gained
strength in my arms and legs as well.
I have made a lot of progress through Kick
Box classes and the personal training
sessions. I highly recommend Steve Boe,
and know you will enjoy it the same way I
do.

I
have lost 30 Pounds in 6 months!
My
name is Polly and I am a 38-year old woman
with a 5-year old son. I have always
struggled to keep my weight under control.
When I had my son, I gained 70 pounds.
After having him, I thought that the
weight would magically come off. It
didn't.
About 2 years ago, I went on a
low-carbohydrate diet. I lost 50 pounds
right off the bat, but then the weight
loss stopped. I was still about 40 pounds
overweight, so I talked to a friend at
work who was very healthy and worked out
regularly. He clued me in that to lose
weight and be healthy, I needed to eat
right AND work out. I decided to join the
gym.
I am the type of person who needs
something exciting to keep my interest, so
I was immediately attracted to kickboxing.
I began kickboxing about 2 years ago, and
that was where I met Steve Boe. I lost
about 10 pounds taking the classes, so I
decided to start training with Steve in
February of this year.
I work out with Steve Boe 2-3 times a
week. He also has asked me to keep a log
where I document my daily exercise, sleep,
stress and eating. I continue to attend
kickboxing classes 4-5 times a week. Since
I have started training with Steve, I have
lost 30 pounds and averaged 5 pounds a
month in weight loss. My goal is to lose
another 15-20 pounds and I KNOW I CAN DO
IT!
I know how frustrating it is, how much
work it takes, and how busy our lives are.
But if I can do it, YOU CAN! Here is what
I did (and you can too) in four easy
steps:

- Change
the way you eat (keep a log to stay on
track)

I have
been training with Steve Boe for over a
year and doing his kickboxing classes for
even longer. I am 33 years old and have
never been in such great shape as I am
now.
After having 2 children and having spent
countless dollars on ab-machines, workout
equipment etc (that I never used), I
finally realized that the "good old
fashioned way" is the only way to get
results....A GOOD HEALTHY DIET AND
EXERCISE! I was at my highest weight I had
ever been at in August of 2001 and felt
miserable and had absolutely no self
esteem. I began with the kickboxing
classes and then began training 2 times a
week. My body went through a
"metamorphosis" and I am now

My name is Brenda Determan. I just
celebrated my 43rd birthday and I feel
great! I attribute much of this success to
my Personal Trainer, Steve Boe.
For the past twenty years, I have believed
in the value of personal trainers and the
discipline of consistent exercise. I have
trained in major cities through out the
United States, but prior to meeting Steve
Boe, I had not achieved my desired results.
Four years ago I began a combination of
training, kickboxing, and an individualized

I was
overweight by 20 Lbs and now I am 120. I had
a very stressful childhood because I would
always be concerned with my weight. Now I
can walk into a store and be confident that
the clothes will fit me... And Look GOOD,
when I try them on. I feel so much more
confident now. Andrea not only helped me
with my fitness program, but she put me on
this incredible eating plan that

It
started with a party. Every year I go to the
Black & White Party and every year I
want to wear something little and sexy like
everyone else, but never had the confidence
in my body to pull it off. I always told
myself I'd be in shape the next year. Well 6
weeks before the party came this year, I
decided it was time to get my butt in gear.
I had the little skirt, I had the tiny top-I
just needed to fit into them. That's when a
friend and I started training with Andrea.
We got measured and started doing training
once a week. We even did the food log and
before I knew it, I actually saw results!
Like most people, I knew what I needed to
do, I just needed the motivation to do it
and personal training was the answer. It's
quick and even fun! That, combined with the
kickboxing classes and a better diet and I
lost 6 pounds and 6% body fat in 6 weeks. I
also lost inches all over my body! I not
only fit into my little outfit, I started
fitting into all the jeans I had given up
on. It was so nice to actually see the hard
work pay off for once and I kicked myself
for not doing it sooner. I highly recommend
personal training for anyone who has given
up on a body they can be proud of.

My wife
had been with Steve about a year and a half
when she asked me if I would come with her
to Steve's and start working out. I came to
him weighing 243 pounds and I knew that I
wanted to lose some weight and get back into
shape. It has been a short 7 months but I
have lost 45 pounds and now weigh in at 198.
My second goal was to build back some
muscle. I knew that I would probably never
get to the shape I was in at 21 years old
but I wanted to look at least a little more
muscular than I was. Well, Steve got me
beyond my expectations and changed the way I
thought about muscle building from my early
years of lifting weights. Exercise and
building muscle wasn't the only change that
I needed and Steve got me headed in the
right direction with my diet. The total
combination of everything Steve has done for
me has made me feel far younger than my
years and with a little more effort on my
part with Steve's help and I should be
getting back my abs, more muscle and a
little more weight off. All of this and I'm
only 60 years young. My wife has taken off
more than 50 pounds with Steve's help and is

Two years ago a friend asked me to go
with her to a kick boxing class at Boe
Boxing. I said ok thinking it would be fun

concerned with a family trait of
osteoporosis and with a nagging neck pain;
the work outs have resulted in increased
bone density and the virtual elimination of
the neck pain. My posture has improved; I've
lost 17 pounds and two pant sizes. Key to
these developments was Steve's
"customizing" the workouts to
strengthen my weak areas without chancing
increased pain or injury.

I have worked out in one fashion or
another all my life but I am now in the best
shape of my 65 years. This comes as the
result of personal training with Steve twice
a week. My weight is at a level to what it
was in high school; I am stronger than ever
making it easier to do yard work, lift the
grandson, move furniture and perform other
chores on Carol's "Honey-do" list.
Steve has been working on my knees and
stomach/lower back, common areas of concern
for men over 60. My knees give me no problem
walking long distances, going up stairs, or
driving. Training has also helped my golf
game but it is going to take more than
Steve's expertise to get me to a decent
handicap.

I always
believed that, in the world of martial arts
and other combative sports, a champion is
the individual who places first in a
tournament. I can not count the number of
times I have been told during practice that
to be a champion I need to train like a
champion. I always thought that whatever
training I was doing at that particular
moment was what would make me a champion.
However, it took a life-altering event to
make me understand the true meaning of
"champion".
On November 11, 2005, I suffered an ischemic
stroke, or a clot blocking blood supply to
the brain. I was found at my home, passed
out at the kitchen table, and taken to a
local hospital. When I regained
consciousness, I was experiencing double
vision, which lasted for several hours. The
next day I started losing control my motor
skills. I was unable to walk, lost the use
of my right arm, and had numbness in the
right side of my face which caused speech
problems.
Through perseverance and determination I
believe that I am completely rehabilitated.
My personal and gym families such as Boe
Boxing and Fitness have supported my
rehabilitation and I have regained all motor
skills and physical abilities. I have
resumed all my responsibilities at work, for
my family and at school. I have learned a
balanced pace of accomplishing small goals
in life and finding importance in everyday
activities.
The most remarkable accomplishment for me,
though, has been my return to martial arts.
On November 11, 2006, exactly one year to
the day that I had the stroke, I competed
and won my weight class at The Gracie
Nationals Jiu-Jitsu Competition in Columbus,
Ohio. I realize now that first place is just
a symbol and it does not make me a champion.
Finding a balance in life, enjoying my
friends and family and striving to be an
example to others faced with seemingly
overwhelming obstacles is what will, I hope,
make me a champion.

I have
worked out for over eighteen (18) years and
have worked out with many athletes and
trainers. In the past couple of years, I
have worked out with Steve a couple of
times. Steve is very intense, competitive,
and has a "Never Quit" drive. I
would recommend Steve to anyone who wants to
challenge themselves like they have never
trained before! Lastly, I have NEVER met
anyone who maintains such a high level of
